I am a duel cancer patient. I did not smoke or drink or have a poor diet. My father is the last of 12 children, six of them have passed away with cancer and my father had a cancer removed in Nov. I just had a bone marrow transplant to try to give me more time. Sometimes you do nothing wrong at all, it’s just in the genes.

My wife died from cancer September 5th. She had thyroid cancer that spread (metastis) to some organs and to her brain. Her type of cancer has about 33% of it’s patients that were exposed to radiation (usually in youth). The other 66% of the patient’s causes are not known .

No one can tell you how you get cancer. I don’t think the doctors really know, it’s a guess. From what I have been told just about everyone has cancer cells in their bodies, your immune system does it’s job and wipes them out. It’s when that one cell gets away and then it divides and conquers. Diet has allot to do with certain kinds of cancer, along with toxins. All I know is it’s not allot of fun and thank God I believe in miracles. 14 years ago I was told I had cancer, and 14 years ago God took care of it.

My son was diagnosed in 2003 at age 15 with AML- acute myeloid leukemia. He is now 20 and in remission. Thank God we still have him, however we lost most of the children he was hospitalized with during his treatment. We all became a close nit family.
Cancer has many different forms. Some you get from things you eat or drink or even breath. But some you are born with, like leukemia! EVERYONE can get it! It just depends on when your cells are dividing into the red cells or white cells in your bone marrow and if your sick or hurt at the time of division, if it turns into a cancer cell or not. There is no test to see if a person will develop it or not.
My son was healthy and training for football and a career in the military, however he got a simple cold at the exact moment his cells were dividing and it turned into cancer.

I have breast cancer. If I knew the reason why I got this horrible sickness I promise I would tell you and the rest of the world so that you could make sure that it never happened to you. Don’t be afraid of Cancer. In the world today one in every three people will get some form of cancer but that doesn’t mean that they will all die.
I have had Chemo therapy and radiation treatment and my cancer has now been in remission for the past two years. I go for three monthly blood tests to ensure that my cancer cells are not active.
I am afraid sometimes….but mostly I think about all the wonderful people I have met during this wonderful journey called life.
I hope you are feeling more comfortable able CANCER. Please remember it is not a death sentence and most of us do survive.
