Having a migraine is an intense pain like you have never felt. The pain, due to a migraine, is unlike any normal headache pain. The pain from a migraine is much worse because it has pain coming from several directions all meeting at one location in your brain. Many sufferers of this painful headache will know when they are getting one because they will start to see an aura of spots and lights.

Once this aura light show vanishes, the terrible pain will set in. This pain can get so bad that many people often try to find ways in which they can relieve headache pain naturally. This intense pain is coming in from several directions such as the swelling of the brain, the release of certain chemicals, muscle tension, and the blood vessels dilating. Many will often seek out migraine treatment because after a migraine hits, they will have to lie down in a dark and very quiet room and will possibly be out of commission for several days.

One migraine relief remedy which will help to ease the pain one feels with a migraine is biofeedback. This basically is a way in which we can control our body’s reaction to stress by utilizing some relaxation therapies. This method trains our brain to react to a negative feeling as though it were reacting to a real feeling and thus tricking it into releasing the hormones that will lessen the pain. Some techniques this method uses are deep breathing, visualization, and meditation.

Another migraine remedy to help ease the pain is acupuncture. This technique uses many small and thin needles and places them all over your head on the pressure points. This in turn helps release the pressure that is building up at that pressure point and alleviates your pain. While this is a very successful method to handle the pain, many often do not try this because they are afraid of the needles.

A further remedy to help ease the pain is aromatherapy. There is nothing to fear with this method and it is very relaxing. How this works is that you take certain aromas and smell them. Your nose is connected directly to your brain, so the scent travels up to the brain. Once this scent hits the brain, the brain reacts to the smell by releasing some hormones that help get rid of the pain.

An additional remedy that will help ease the migraine pain is myotherapy. This works when another person, usually a therapist, rubs your pressure points on your body with their elbow, fingers, and hands. By rubbing the pressure point, it relaxes them and then gets rid of the pain that is being caused. This helps remove you pain, relaxes your spasms, and improves your circulation.

One more way to get rid of the migraine pain is through natural treatments. There are natural migraine treatments you can do at home that will help decrease your migraine. You can lie down in a dark room, place a cold compress on your neck, place your feet in warm water, massage your own shoulders and neck, and you can press on the two pressure points on the back of your neck.

The best way to get some migraine relief is to use the simple techniques mentioned. These methods have been proven to work for others and may help ease your pain. These methods include acupuncture, natural treatments, biofeedback, aromatherapy, and myotherapy. These methods will help bring some peace and relieve your pain even though there is no migraine cure yet.

Let’s pretend you wanted form a habit. And not just some wimpy habit, but a major, mind controlling, and life changing habit behavior. Where do you start to make it a really strong habit that will feel impossible to break? There are three basic ways we learn habits; emotions, authority figures, and repetition.

Let’s use an example.

Let’s just use a younger you for the example, 10-14 years old. And for this example, let’s use the habit of smoking. If you don’t smoke…. replace the word “smoking” with any craving you get, or just pretend you smoke? It is an article about smoking after all.

When you were in that age range we can assume you were learning about your life and how you fit into it. You may not have felt as sure about yourself.

Kids that age sometimes feel self-conscious, dependent on others, powerless, not good enough, or??. We’ll call this feeling “bad”. This is not saying you felt miserable, but maybe didn’t feel “good” as you thought you should feel? Did you feel as “good” as you thought other people felt?

Possibly, (probably) not. Which would mean you wanted to feel better, or at least as good as you thought other people feel. What would make you feel better? That depends on the influences in your life to that point.

Experiences that teach you smoking is strong, capable, tough, independent, self-assured, unique, and feels “good”. Experiences that involve emotions, authority figures and repetition. Of course advertisements do this, so do parents and family members. Are these experiences repeated? Of course.

Your mind would develop a craving for the very thing it believes is in your best interest. The thing that will make you feel better. A craving that is a “feeling”, separate from a “knowing”.

Then at some point you tried your first cigarette, and DID feel better. But you were not very good at smoking yet and since it made you feel better, you practiced it until you were good at it.

As life continues you come across situations that make you feel “bad” again and do what you’ve been taught makes you feel “good”. That is repeated emotions and practice and you have a strong habit.

A lot of people working to quit smoking have thought of these things. A lot have not. But, all of the people that have tried to quit smoking have used a lot of time thinking and analyzing their habit. Trying to argue themselves into quitting. But, you didn’t learn this habit by thinking and analyzing. Why would trying to quit smoking that way work?

It is a lot easier to quit smoking with the same methods you started smoking with. A “hypnotized” state of mind combined with emotions, authority figures and repetition. Often called modern hypnosis.

If your cat isn’t feeling good, you can imagine it’s hard for her to clearly communicate that to you. To make it easier, then, you have to be very observant. Here are a few major areas of cat illness and symptoms to which you should be alert.

Cats are very good at hiding discomfort and signs of illness, but sometimes this comes out as a change in behavior. If you notice a change in your cat’s typical routine, you’ll want to check for a physical problem.

Elimination problems — Cats may experience a number of issues involving urination, defecation, and litter boxes.

Cats my experience FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease). This is actually the name for a group of problems that may involve crystals, stones, inflammation, or infection. Some of these urinary tract problems can be life threatening.

Excessive urination can be a sign of cat illness such as feline diabetes. Excessive licking in the groin or anal area can be a sign of problems.

Treatments are available for hairballs/constipation, and include store bought hairball remedies as well as veterinarian prescribed treatments such as lactulose.

Impacted anal glands my also be a factor which will require treatment. It should be noted that long term constipation may lead to a serious bowel condition known as megacolon.

If your cat is howling or crying out while using the litter box, or makes frequent but unsuccessful trips to the box, she may have some physical problem that needs to be looked at. Also, a common sign of trouble is scooting across the floor while dragging the rear end.

If you notice that your cat is not using the litter box, always assume a physical cause may be at fault. If your cat is not urinating or defecating or is missing the litter box, contact your veterinarian.

Diarrhea may indicate intestinal disease and can lead to dehydration, which can be fatal. Other things to look for are evidence of blood in urine or feces, including black tarry stools.

Eye and mouth problems — Check your cat’s eyes for pupils of uneven size, cloudiness, or discharge. The nictating membrane, or haw, is a “third eyelid” that you will sometimes see when a cat’s eyes are open. This is often an indication of disease.

Pale lips and gums is a sign of disease which may indicate anemia. Other symptoms of cat illness may include bad breath and ulcers of the mouth.

Hair and skin problems — Poor coat or problem skin can be a sure sign of cat illness. In fact, the coat and skin of your cat can be used as a measure of overall health.

A poor or oily looking coat is a sign of illness. If you notice that cat has stopped grooming, it’s a sure sign of a problem.

Also look for swelling, hair loss, excessive dryness or flaking, or skin eruption or growths. Check your cat at least once per week for parasites.

Domestic felines may experience other health problems for sure, but these are a few of the major categories. Keeping an eye on your cat’s normal routine, and being sensitive to any of the above problems is an essential part of cat care.

When you maintain a blood pressure log you should write down your daily activities. If you have an active lifestyle then it may be easy to forget to write in the log. You cannot forget. You should take your log with you everywhere you go and write down everything you do. These things include exercise, every food you eat and everything else. You will need to take your blood pressure throughout the day and write it down in your log.

When you analyze your blood pressure log you will be able to see trends in your blood pressure. You can compare your blood pressure levels against each other after you ate certain foods and after you attended certain events. This should help you determine which things in your lifestyle cause your blood pressure to increase at certain times and which things cause your blood pressure to remain at a normal level. Calendula (Calendula officinalis), also known as pot marigold, pot calendula, Holligold, Garden Marigold, Gold-Bloom, Marigold, Marybud, and Zergul, has a beautiful orange or yellow flower. The plant is native to the Mediterranean area.

Calendula’s name comes from the word calendar because it blooms every new moon. “Marigold” refers to the Virgin Mary. The flower is often used in Catholic events that honor her. When you think of marigold, don’t think of the annual flowers from your garden. That is probably either French marigold or African marigold and is a totally different species.

For the chemists reading this, calendula contains these medicinal ingredients: amyrin, rutin, isoquercitrin, alendulin, beta-carotene and other carotenoids, narcissin, lupeol, sterols, and volatile oils. The flowers also have complex polysaccharides that stimulate the immune system.

Calendula can be taken internally or externally. Internally, calendula is especially used for gastrointestinal disorders. It protects the lining of the stomach and intestines by inhibiting the causes of swelling and inflammation, and by limiting the effects of the bacteria associated with gastritis, peptic ulcers, and stomach cancer. Taken orally calendula has been used to sooth stomach ulcers and inflammation. Some report it to be effective in fighting fever, boils, abscesses, and recurrent vomiting.

Calendula’s orange petals contain the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory secrets that make it effective externally. These two A’s have put calendula into the forefront of treatment for various infections. For example, some find it more effective in treating ear infections than leading prescription drugs. Calendula tea makes a great eye wash for those suffering from chronic conjunctivitis (pink eye). As an ointment, it attacks the bacteria causing swelling and thus will soothe inflammation. It is also used to treat vaginal itching caused by menopausal tissue changes, insect bites, eczema, diaper rash, acne, hemorrhoids, burns, scalds, and sunburn.

By using this herb on infections, healing is more pain-free, better, and faster when calendula is used. Cosmetic creams containing calendula decrease the appearance of wrinkles and hydrate skin. Gargling with calendula water or tea has helped ease the pain of a sore throat.

Calendula is also recommended for use in treating varicose veins, chronic ulcers, capillary engorgement, and congestion. Calendula flowers are edible, and may be added to salads or cooked foods. They can also be dried for use in teas. Calendula adds flavor and color to cereals, rice, and soups.

Calendula may be purchased or prepared as creams, teas, tinctures, infusions, compresses, and washes. To make calendula tea, simply pour about a cup of boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of calendula flowers and let sit for 15 minutes. Calendula tea may be taken 3 times per day. Calendula tincture, which can be taken with water or tea, can be taken 3 times a day (in doses of 1-2 ml). To make calendula tincture, soak a cup of flowers in .5 quarts of rectified alcohol for 5 to 6 weeks. A tincture dose is 5 to 15 drops. To create a calendula salve for external application, boil 1 oz of dried flowers or leaves with 1 oz lard.

Calendula is one of the very safest herbs. Some with ragweed allergy have reacted to it but this is rare. Use of the tincture on wounds is not recommended since the alcohol base will burn the raw tissue. Since calendula may seal off the wounded area, be sure wounds are cleaned before applying calendula.

INTRODUCTION: True bone cancer (aka primary bone cancer) affects over 2,000 people in the United States each year. Cancer that originates in the bone - primary bone cancer - is rare. Early diagnosis and treatment of this disease increases the likelihood of survival. Children and young people are more likely than adults to develop cancer of the bones. In the past, amputation was common for bone cancer in an arm or leg.

CAUSE: Often, when people have bone cancer, it is caused by cancer that has metastasized ( spread ) from another place in the body to the bones rather than true cancer of bone cells.

TYPES: There are at least 100 forms of cancer, and each type is named for the organ or tissue in which it originated. Certain forms of cancers are particularly likely to metastasize (spread) to the bones. It is important to noticed that when these other kinds of cancer spread to the bone, they are still named for the tissue or organ where they originated and are not termed “bone” cancer.

Many different forms of cancer are able to metastasize to the bones. The most common forms of malignancies that spread to the bones are lung, breast, prostate, thyroid, and kidney.

There are a number of kinds of sarcoma of the bone, depending upon the kind of bone tissue where the tumor originated. The most frequently occuring kinds of primary bone cancer are osteosarcoma, Ewing’s sarcoma, and chondrosarcoma. Other, less occuring types include fibrosarcoma, malignant giant cell tumor, and chordoma.

SYMPTOMS: The symptoms of bone cancer tend to develop slowly and depend on the type, location, and size of the tumor. Pain is the most frequent symptom of bone cancer and doctors sometimes use radiation therapy to shrink tumors to decrease the pressure, pain or other symptoms they may cause.

TREATMENT: Treatment depends on the type of bone cancer, as well as its location, size and stage. Treatment may involve chemotherapy with multiple drugs as well as radiation therapy and surgery to remove the primary tumor.

Treating cancer that has spread to the bones (metastatic cancer) depends on the form of cancer (the tissue where it originated) and the extent of the spread. As with other malignancies, treatment depends on the size, type, location and stage of the cancer, including whether it has metastasized to the lungs or other parts of your body, and your overall health.

Your doctor may suggest using radiation therapy at different times during your cancer treatment and for different reasons, such as before surgery to shrink a cancerous tumor or after surgery to stop the growth of any remaining cancer cells.

A well-coordinated team of doctors - including surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists who are familiar with treatment of sarcomas - is important for increasing the chance you’ll be able to have limb-sparing treatment. In some cases, chemotherapy may be the only treatment you need. More often, doctors use it in conjunction with other treatments, such as surgery or radiation, to improve results.

CONCLUSION: In contrast to cancers which have metastasized to the bone, real bone cancers are tumors that originate from the tissues of the bones. These malignancies, called primary bone cancers, are very rare in comparison to those that have spread to the bones.

Pain is the most frequent symptom of bone malignancy, but sometimes a lump on the bone can be felt through the skin. It is very rare to have a true bone cancer, one that arises from cells that make up the bone.

The treatment and prognosis of the disease depends upon a number of factors including the type and extent of the malignancy, the person’s age and overall basic health. The disease may be treated with surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of them all.
