Running Drills Improve Form

Those who engage in running on a serious basis, whether for recreation/health or for competition, know that there is a limit to what the human body can provide and what it can stand when under stress. If, during practice and training, the runner does not stretch to reasonable limits in a well-planned way, the individual may reach what some call a “plateau.” This means that, when it counts most, the runner will not be able to perform at a top level because the body is not prepared to go further.

Practice and training running should naturally include an increase in pace as well as an increase in the intensity of running (uphill, surface changes etc.). But many coaches, trainers and experienced runners include well-designed drills into regular work sessions, for the sole purpose of improving results and form. Many of these individuals include a quality heart rate monitor watch in the plan for these workouts, to better understand how the individual body is reacting to drills and workout schedules.

The Drills

Some feel that running “sideways” is productive and relatively easy, while providing improved balance, foot coordination and so on. Experts remind the runner that these drills should be performed without crossing over the legs/feet. Running backward has long been a preferred method of exercise, balance improvement and stamina increase. Trainers often encourage athletes and others to incorporate a careful change of direction, running forward occasionally to improve starting quickness and speed.

Some coaches and trainers include the rather unusual method of running while putting slight resistance on the head with the runner’s own hands. This method does prove to be a challenge, especially if the training is performed on an incline or in difficult footing, such as on sand. The arms and hands are quite important in helping move the body forward. Taking them out of the picture can improve leg strength, among other things.

Kick Some Butt

Many of the drills and training methods mentioned above can be done safely and at a proper pace with the use of a good heart rate monitor watch. Another, somewhat unusual style of training includes “butt kicks.” The individual starts with legs straight and then attempts to touch his or her own buttocks with a backward kick. Expert coaches and trainers advise the individual to make this a smooth motion. Gradually increasing speed of kicks is part of a good training plan.

Other great methods include walking in a crouch, thighs parallel to the ground or training surface. Fast baby steps on the balls of the feet should help speed and foot agility. These and other drills should be tracked carefully, using a heart rate monitor watch and other accessories. A good drill plan can yield tremendous improvement.

What’s the connection between omega 3 fatty acids and male fertility?

That’s such a great inquiry with an even greater reply.

Scientists are delving into the field of omega 3 fatty acids with its relations to sperm and sperm mobility. However, as of today, there are a number of benefits confirmed for omega 3 fish oil.

For instance, it has been confirmed that the fatty acids in fish have great impact in the progress of blood flow to the genitals. It also lessens blood pressure and sustains a healthy prostate gland.

Such productive results from fish oil have been crucial to the act of reproduction.

Immense blood flow to the genitals and normal pressure of blood negates the risk and probability of erectile dysfunction. It is difficult to reproduce if you’re having trouble rising to the occasion.

Inflammation of the prostate, also known as prostatitis, has serious reproductive repercussions. It is therefore important for a man to supplement with fish oil regularly. Such natural anti-inflammatory ability of the fatty acids keeps the prostate to function in a healthy manner.

Delivering the sperm is only one part of the whole story. Strong, numerous and mobile sperms have to be forthcoming in order for fertilization to occur.

Two things; cholesterol and oxidation within the sperm are reasons that can result in male infertility.

Important fatty acids and cholesterol comprise a vast part of sperm cell membranes. 60% of the fatty acids are DHA, which is commonly found in fish oil as the omega 3 fatty acid. [Molecular Human Reproduction, Vol. 4, 111-118]

And it has been examined that fertile men have a much higher level of DHA in their sperm cell membranes as compared to infertile men.

Therefore, DHA is indeed a catalyst in its effects to the well-being of the sperm.

Cholesterol count in the sperm is another sign of infertility. More cholesterol means more infertility. Such is believed to be caused by low fatty acids in the sperm. [Biology of Reproduction, vol. 59, 7-11]

The reason is that depletion of fatty acids would only mean a higher amount of cholesterol in the sperm membrane, thus keeping the sperm from growing.

Simply put, low fatty acids make it impossible for a man to make a woman pregnant.

In addition, having premature and abnormal sperms gives birth to free radicals which are harmful to other healthy sperms. Also, it increases infertility. [Current Medical Chemistry, Vol. 8, 851-862]

Accordingly, fish oil omega 3 fatty acids and male fertility are indeed counterparts.

If you increase your intake of important fatty acids like omega 3 with DHA, there would be no problems with infertility. And the sole natural source for such DHA is found within fish and fish oil.

Improving intake of fish oil would surely enhance the effectiveness of the sperm and thus gives a greater chance of reproducing.

There are medical insurances that cover the cost of a reconstructive plastic surgery. A cosmetic plastic surgery, however, is a different story. You may have to finance a cosmetic plastic surgery yourself through a loan.

Now, there are already several options for people who can’t afford a cosmetic surgery. Before we look into those options, let’s take a look at what else you should know about financing plastic surgery.

Don’t Go for Bargains

Anyone could be tempted to select surgeon who asks for lesser fee if you do not know much about financing plastic surgery. This is however, the worst possible mistake you could ever make. Plastic surgery costs are usually steeper if the surgeon who will conduct the procedure is already seasoned and an undisputed expert. An expensive doctor however is also more likely to be a safer option and eventually a more cost effective one. Cheap doctors may also have cheap services that may result in more financing plastic surgery problems because you would have to pay for corrective surgery on a botched up work.

Costs and Plans Vary

The extent of work to be performed, the type of procedure and the region you belong to are also some of the other factors that affect the cost of plastic surgery. Doctors and clinics will also therefore have different payments schemes or offers for financing plastic surgery. You would have to discuss this aspect as extensively as the procedure itself. Be warned that there may also be hidden costs or miscellaneous fees that you may not have asked about and may not be included in offers for financing plastic surgery.

No Plan Scheme

Financing plastic surgery, loan or installment plans may not work with some surgeons and clinics. Some patients may not immediately realize it but such a policy may be as much for the patient’s advantage as it is theirs. This is because such a strict policy will ensure that a patient can truly afford the procedure and its corresponding after surgery costs.

In some cases, doctors or clinics will even ask for a complete payment before the procedure to secure the patient’s assurance. This may be potentially dangerous though especially if accidents happen.

Finance Companies and Banks

Some banks and several finance companies now provide options for financing plastic surgery. Individuals can now fill up forms for approval to cover cosmetic plastic surgery. Most companies will tell you that they have affordable and flexible rates but the truth is that applying for a loan may be a little more difficult than imagined especially in banks.

Plastic surgery loans are actually unsecured by collateral. This means that a bank or company may have to meticulously investigate your credit history and report to find out if you are capable of paying. Even if you do pass an application for financing plastic surgery, some companies may have higher interest rates than others simply because it is their only security if you are suddenly unable to pay.

If you are looking into purchasing a trampoline for your family but you have children; there are many things you need to consider. Age is one of them, and safety is the second. Both of these issues often times prevent families from enjoying a trampoline as they are scared to even purchase one.

Today, most injuries (according to doctors) come from the jumpers falling off of the sides. Secondly, they come from collisions and then lastly from the mat springs. Now, parents can fight back against their child’s injury with many safety options.

Trampoline manufacturers designed many different models of trampolines. They vary from extremely large trampolines that are designed specifically to carry multiple jumpers to trampolines that are made especially for toddlers. No matter what kind of trampoline you plan to purchase, being informed about them is essential.

These large trampolines are often fourteen foot or larger. Not only are they huge, they come in a variety of shapes ranging from circular to square. However the corners of trampolines often cause the most problems as they give a higher spring related injury potential. So if you are really concerned about spring injuries a circular trampoline is most likely the best option.

Today manufactures have started to provide protection from the springs. They are called spring covers, a piece of plastic that wraps all the way around the trampoline and covers all the springs. Often times they are reinforced by foam or some type of padding. These are not all that reliable as they often shift and jar when someone is jumping which opens up the potential of spring injury. Spring covers are great for older jumpers as they understand the risks of being near the cover.

Another innovation that would fit the same type of trampolines is an enclosure. The same 14-foot trampoline mentioned above would have an optional 14 trampoline enclosure that is made specifically for it. There are a number of universal enclosures as well. The enclosure is a high net that is designed to protect jumpers from the springs and from falling off. Models that protect jumpers from the springs are more effective because the netting is more rigid than a spring cover alone.

Enclosures, like the spring covers, are not foolproof. Larger children can sometimes break through the netting and injure themselves. Though enclosures greatly increase the safety of a trampoline, they, like any sports equipment, must be used with caution. Enclosures work best with smaller children.

Say you have a toddler or any child that is under the age of ten; there is a high ring of doubt about owning a trampoline. However there are now trampolines with handle – small, compact, safe, and stable. They are small enough to be put indoors and are by far the safest trampoline for any toddler. They reside only a few inches off of the ground to prevent falling injuries and they do not contain any springs.

A springless trampoline, when used in conjunction with the safety equipment mentioned above, can eliminate many safety issues will also being a longer-lasting, more cost effective choice in trampolines. These trampolines replace springs with elastic bands, which are inexpensive to replace and last longer than the conventional metal springs. These elastic bands eliminate all possibility of jumpers injuring themselves from coming in contact with the springs because there are none! Because of the reduced weight, a springless trampoline costs less to ship through the mail. This reduced weight also makes storing the trampoline in the winter much easier. These attributes make a springless trampoline an excellent choice for children of any age.

Most of us immediately consider going for medical treatment when we feel some pain or discomfort. There is nothing wrong with this really. In fact, going to the doctor promptly may even save your life. There are some conditions however, like TMJ pain that may be solved without the use of invasive medical procedures. Before thinking of serious TMJ treatment, think first of taking control of TMJ yourself.

Different Doctors Different Solutions

There are plenty of reasons why you might want to take control of your TMJ first before seeking medical attention. One major reason though is that there is no specific certified medical area of concentration for TMJ. Experts in TMJ treatment are therefore not specifically licensed for TMJ treatment alone. This means that different kinds of doctors like oral surgeons, dentists and orthodontists may be legally allowed to look for ways to treat you. As most of us know, different doctors have different methods of doing things depending on their training and field of expertise. How would you or anyone know which treatment is best for you?

Different Conditions

If your condition is already severe, the only best thing you can do about it is to seek help from your doctor. You should know though that there is no one single cause for TMJ problems. This means that the specific medical solution for one person may not work for another. You would be lucky if you had an extremely good doctor who could zero in on your real problem. There are some however who might miss the mark on your specific condition.

You Might Suffer More

There have been cases where patients complain about their doctors’ prescription being ineffective. Mouth guards and splints for example may be effective for some but may make things worse for others. It would be okay if you simply had to get rid of a mouth guard if it doesn’t work. It would be a different story if you have had surgery or have taken strong medication for TMJ.

Always try non-invasive methods first before considering medication or surgery. The effects of intensive medical solutions may be irreversible and may pose some serious risks to your health.

You Might Have a Different Problem

It is also possible that your TMJ condition is caused by another factor. It is true that TMJ may be caused by real medical problems. Sometimes though, taking control of TMJ makes sense because your real problem might really be stress. If this is the case, surgery or heavy medication may not be useful at all.

If your TMJ problem is severe and you really need to see an expert, make sure that you go to a reputable practitioner. Part of taking control of TMJ is also making sure that you get second and third opinions before choosing a serious medical procedure.

Non-Harmful Solutions May Work

Maybe it would help if you tried some safe procedures first for your TMJ problem. This aspect of taking control of TMJ may involve trying out meditation, behavior modification, yoga, stress reduction programs and special diets and exercises. All these could break your routine of stress and tension that may be contributing to your TMJ problem.

Not everyone is cut out to pursue a career in continuing care. It requires a special temperament and personality to withstand the unique challenges and pressures that the caregiver will be subjected to. So how do you know if you have the right personality for the job, preferably before you start down this career path? This is an area where personality and ability are both extremely important.

Many medical professionals avoid this area because it requires a dedication that just doesn`t suit everyone. Looking after someone for a long period of time just isn`t the right way to go for everyone, so you`ll want to be sure that it`s the right path for you. There are a few characteristics that are common throughout the continuing care community. If you have these, then chances are, this is the right line of work for you.

Compassion: Without this, you`ll fail. It takes a compassionate heart to spend long hours caring for someone who is unable to look after themselves. If you have always enjoyed helping people and feeling useful, then this is a good indication that you`ll enjoy enrolling in a continuing care program.

Strength: Not just physical, though this is quite useful, as well, when you are lifting a full grown adult into the tub. However, mental strength is also necessary. You need to be able to deal with situations that may not be very comfortable, for you or the patient. It can be embarrassing for a teen boy to be helped onto the toilet, for example, and you`ll need to deal with thi

Patience: If you are an impatient person, chances are long term care isn`t a good place to work. This is a career that requires long hours of doing very little, simply being present in case your patient needs help. It can involve repetitive tasks, like checking heart rate and blood pressure, reading the same book over and over and hours doing tasks that would normally take a few minutes, like feeding a patient or helping someone get from one room to another. Patience is essential.

Friendliness: Continuing care involves long periods of time spent with the same patient. Unlike regular hospital care where you only see a patient for a few hours or days and never really get to know them, this career will leave you with more than enough time to get to know the people you work with. A callous attitude won`t work well, though many patients, particularly those in hospice care, will be resistant to you. A friendly attitude can go a long ways.

It can be mentally and physically exhausting working with people in long term care. You`ll be working with the elderly, the terminally ill and those who have been incapacitated in some way. It can take a toll on your personal life if you aren`t careful, so you also need to know when to take a break. You won`t be able to continue indefinitely and it`s important to be able to separate work from personal life.

Continuing care is not the ideal career for everyone. However, if you are compassionate, friendly and strong mentally and physically, with the ability to separate the life you lead on your off hours from your work, then it could be a good fit for you. The world needs people who are willing to participate in long term care, so this is an area that will always be open to more workers. It`s a good field to go into if you find that you have the right personality.

Perhaps the most painful type of hemorrhoid is a thrombosed hemorrhoid. A thrombosed hemorrhoid is a hemorrhoid which has clotted inside the rectum (or externally in some cases). Most thrombosed hemorrhoids can cured without the need for surgery. Thrombosed hemorrhoids range in size from being very small through to being larger than a golf ball.

Natural hemorrhoid cures can be great pain relievers and they can be very effective in total treatment of thrombosed hemorrhoids. Below are several tips for sufferers of thrombosed hemorrhoids:

Soaking the rectal area in warm water is a good way to soothe hemorrhoid pain. Do it 2 ” 3 times a day for best results. If sitting in a bath of warm water is too painful, try squatting in the water for 5 minutes.

If it hurts you or if you struggle during bowel movement, softening of the stool may be exactly what you need. You can do this quite easily by eating more foods which are high in fiber such as fruit, beans, vegetables, and cereals.

Stay hydrated by drinking a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day. This may sound like a lot but if you make a conscious effort to do it you will soon realize that is not a lot at all. Try to avoid ever feeling thirsty ” this is your bodys way of telling you that it is becoming dehydrated.

Apply ice to the anal opening (or affected area). This will reduce the blood flow to the area and will also numb the thrombosed hemorrhoid. Wrap ice in a cloth to apply.

Try a hemorrhoid cream or gel. These aim to reduce swelling and irritation ” they seem to work with varying results however so choose one carefully if you decide you want to try one.

While its not recommended as an ongoing solution for hemorrhoid pain relief, Ibuprofen is very effective for short term pain relief.

Try to do at least 20 minutes of light exercise per day ” this will help to speed up your rate of metabolism and promote regular bowel movement.

Use slightly damp toilet paper to clean yourself after bowel movement ” this is softer and will cause less irritation.

Thrombosed hemorrhoids can be cured naturally. One of the most successful guides available is called H-Miracle. It has become extremely popular in recent times due to how effective it has been. H-Miracle also gives you a range of tips and tricks that work very well for fast pain relief.

Surgical removal of hemorrhoids should always be a last resort, its only recommended after all else has been tried. If you think you do need surgical removal, a few different options available to you include:

Rubber Band ligation ” this process involves tying a rubber band around the hemorrhoid which restricts blood flow to the hemorrhoid. The hemorrhoid then eventually shrivels up and disappears.

Hemorrhoidectomy ” probably the most painful of all hemorrhoid removal procedures, the hemorrhoid is cut away using a special apparatus. Patients usually require several weeks of painful recovery time.

Sclerotherapy ” a liquid is injected into the hemorrhoid which causes it to shrink away completely.

As mentioned above, surgery should be considered a last resort for removing thrombosed hemorrhoids, in the vast majority of cases thrombosed hemorrhoids can be cures using simple natural techniques.

Anne was a Norwegian mother of two who was thirty nine years old. She suffered a virus in 1999 and never completely recovered. Initially Anne was diagnosed with post viral syndrome (PVFS). Over time this developed into M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), sometimes known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. She developed a sensitivity to sound and light. She also suffered with extreme fatigue, IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and Insomnia.

Due to the brain fog she was suffering the years seemed to drift by in haze. Anne was tested for many other health complaints by her doctor, all with a negative result. She was offered CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), graded exercise and pacing. Nothing gave her relief or helped her condition. Anne searched for and tried alternative approaches which included acupuncture, homeopathy, osteopathy, herbalism, as well as many others. Some helped in the short term, but nothing seemed to last.

Anne was now suffering a lot of physical pain. She was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. All that was on offer were painkillers and anti-depressants. In year nine Anne read in the paper about a Norwegian ME sufferer who had traveled to the U.K. for a training programme called the Phil Parker Lightning Process. She came across stories on the Internet of more ME/CFS sufferers who were now completely well. After taking this training their health had turned around rapidly, hence the name — The Lightning Process.

Anne couldn’t believe that these people had been suffering in the same way as her. This physical illness was affecting most of her bodily systems – how could this be helped by a training programme? Throughout the year, more recovery stories appeared in the Norwegian papers. Anne decided to try The Lightning Process herself. She found that some U.K. practitioners were traveling to Norway to run Lightning Process courses. It was six weeks before the ME/CFS recovery course in Oslo when Anne contacted me.

I informed Anne that in the recovery course, I included a number of other valuable techniques along with the Lightning Process. Anne started straight away with some of the self-help resources from my website. These are all easy ways in which to start to re-train the nervous system. Anne also downloaded the free relaxation mp3 produced for ME/CFS sufferers.

Anne used self-applied tapping or acu-pressure techniques as well as focused breathing exercises as part of the self-help. She learnt to reduce the intensity of her symptoms and increase her energy with these simple daily practices. Her sleeping improved after listening to the guided relaxation recording. These techniques weren’t necessarily going to cure the ME/CFS, but Anne felt hopeful as she learnt how to influence her condition, after feeling helpless for such a long time.

Anne then took part in the Optimum Energy Training Course where she learnt The Lightning Process and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). There was four hours of training each day on three consecutive days. On day one she felt a significant change as the brain fog that she had lived with for so long had lifted. It wasn’t all easy for her, there was work to be done, but Anne persisted, practicing with all of the techniques. By the end of the third day she had made huge changes and although she was not yet 100% better, she knew that she had the tools and know-how to get there.

After the course I followed up Anne with some telephone coaching. Anne had made great progress, her energy was increasing and symptoms fading as the days passed. She spent the next month working on her fitness and stamina until She was fully well. Anne’s story might sound like a miraculous turn-around, but this type of outcome is common through applying these strategies. This approach isn’t right for everyone. People have to be ready and prepared to put in the necessary short-term work. For those who are, the results of applying the training can be quite remarkable as they were for Anne.

How necessary is natural treatment for kidney stones?

Think over this before you make a decision. The torture stones induce is comparable to a knife in the back. Consider how we would agonize if a person grabbed a switchblade, used it to puncture a hole in you, and furthermore rotated it each 2 or 3 seconds.

Following that, picture the practice happening again from time to time. Small-scale bladder stones, Damaging stones. Painful? Certainly, and it’s not the kind of suffering that, in some future time, would go away. Most assuredly, it’s the unrelenting, vexatious brand that says “remember me” at times a person least expects it to, on any one particular day or night.

Forgetting the torture constituent however, kidney stone treatment is nevertheless a definite. Why? Stones could be quite little however they precipitate a large amount of damage to you, they may perhaps block the urinary flow thru the ureters.

These are the tubing that carry urine to the bladder. As this takes place, the blockage creates stress and strain that, in turn, prompt the kidneys to be swollen. Once in a while, these kidney stones (also called renal calculi) proceed down the ureters, inducing painful cramping to the back, the stomach area and the genital region.

Not getting right kidney stone treatment, micro-organisms can breed where the congestion is and ultimately cause UTI (urinary tract infection).

Cures. Treatment for uric acid kidney stones can vary, as depends upon the bladder stones measurement and also the harshness of the symptoms exhibited. Usually, patients can excrete bladder stones by themselves, thus providing their own kidney stone relief.

Even sufferers who find this strenuous to do, could drink supplements or a homemade beverage – the Home type remedy for kidney stones, to flush the stones out on their own.

But what if your kidney stones (also called renal calculi) are overly big? What if, as opposed to moving through naturally, they dam up the ureters instead? This is when surgery is needed. The stones may be surgically taken out. It is that, or mashed by means of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy.

Here are five helpful ways to beat annoying kidney stones for the rest of your life.

1. Consume ample water. Eight or so drinks is as a rule recommended, but if anyone has had renal calculi – kidney stones in days gone by, it would be most effective to consume at the least around fourteen drinks.

2. Drink generous amounts of lemonade (lemon juice, sugar and water). It’s no wonder tonic, but it will be able to bring about something some drinks do not: increase citrate amounts in a person’s urine. Citrate staves off the formation of bothersome kidney stones.

3. Do not consume oxalate-rich foodstuff. Spinach, soybean, rhubarb, chocolate, sweet potatoes, black indian tea, peanuts, wheat germ and beets are high in oxalate. Do without these.

4. Reduce salt intake. On the authority of the AAFP, folks really aught to limit their salt levels to approximately a teaspoon of salt each 24 hours. This proposal is backed up by the Cleveland Clinic, that tells that excess salt can make way for serious calcium build-ups in the bloodstream. These will generate kidney stones.

5. Reduce red meat levels. Cutback on meat intake to 2 servings each day at most. In step with the AAFP, the proteins resident in meat form uric acid once they have been digested. Uric acid is the foremost reason for uric acid stone growth as well as gout.

Be educated – the more effective help from kidney stone production is to eat, live and drink healthy.
