Stress relief is now high on my schedule, and it’s about time too. The only comfort is knowing that I’m not the only woman in the world who has discovered that finding time to relax and unwind is becoming increasingly difficult. But I’ve been growing aware of the fact that my health must come first sometimes, and so I have spent a little while exploring various stress relief therapies for women.

I know that my days have been full and busy, but I never really took the time to appreciate the diverse range of methods available to help unwind and let the cares of the day fall like blossom in a gentle breeze. My blossom just seems to have just taken a shortcut straight to the compost heap lately. But there are actually several highly recommended stress relief therapies.

For me the first thing I tried was yoga, since I’d been walking past a poster advertising yoga classes for ages. Like many people I thought yoga was just about tying your legs in knots while trying to stand on your head, but it was actually very straightforward to get started, and as well as offering a way to relax mentally there are many physical health benefits to yoga too.

Having untied myself from the yoga class my next visit into stress relief alternatives was meditation. I thought this would be easy, but I spent most of my time trying to pick between the many ways in which meditation can be undertaken. I chose a meditation CD which I played whilst lying in the dark with my eyes closed. Very relaxing, although I have no recollection of the second half of the disk!

Although not personally undertaken to any very serious degree the next item on my list of stress relief alternatives was physical exercise. My idea of physical exercise is racing to the back of the shop to be first to the sale rail, but I have several friends who assure me that regular physical exercise can be one of the best stress relief therapies available. I’ll have to take their word on that, the pizza’s just arrived.

The next item on my list certainly focussed on the relief half of stress relief. Women’s toys are now so varied and ingenious that they seem to be able to cater for bits of me even I didn’t know existed. I had a browse through an online store, my responses varying from disbelief to confusion to sheer rampant fascination. I spent more time exploring this method of stress relief than physical exercise, although as it did make me a little out of breath, it must have burnt up at least a few calories.

Relaxing music came next (after me!) and I spent some time gathering all of the relaxing music tracks I could find, and downloading them all onto my iPod. As portable as my woman’s toy but rather more decent in public I just slip the headphones on and drift into a catatonic state of vacancy. It’s certainly relaxing, although I find having my eyes shut and the mobile switched off helps.

The final item on my list was almost laughable - ‘find time to get plenty of rest’. Lately I’ve been finding that the stress and pace of the day has stopped me from sleeping properly, which has made me even more irritable the next day. Planning to spend time trying out various stress relief therapies is important, because with a little effort and a little time reserved just for you, sleep comes better. The more you relax, the more you can relax.

There can be any of a wide number of potential causative factors when you deal with a chronic daily headache. This type of discomfort can and should be taken seriously by you as well as a health professional. This is an unreasonable type of pain that can have an impact on every other aspect of your life. There is no need for you to put up with such discomfort when there are treatment options available.

Some of the chronic daily headache that patients experience are considered all day events. They wake up with the pain and fall asleep to the pain. This type of headache can literally last for weeks. Alternatively, you may have one specific trigger that you experience on regular basis that stimulates the pain receptors in your head. It is not always easy to put your finger on the causative factor for your pain, but the more you attempt to figure it out the more likely you will be to find relief.

Sometimes an over the counter drug or a prescription medication can cause headaches. This isn’t altogether common, but any time these types of headaches accompany the start of a new medication or an altered dosage recommendation it is a potential cause. While this is not a side effect that is commonly listed, it can be a powerful factor in the pain you are experiencing.

If you are experiencing some sort of sudden stressful event in your life you may be responding by having these headaches. Financial, personal, or other types of stress often manifest themselves this way. The loss of a loved one through death or otherwise can also be a trigger.

It is quite common for vision problems to create chronic daily headaches. If you wear prescription lenses or have a family history of needing corrective lenses your first stop might need to be your eye doctor. An ophthalmologist can help determine whether your pain is related to eye strain. If you work in front of a computer you are more likely to experience this common problem.

Your work posture can also cause this type of problem. If you are only getting these headaches at work you may be squeezing your shoulders up or extending your neck in a manner that is difficult for your head to adjust to. A visit with a chiropractor can help rid you of the problem.

The chronic daily headache can become a serious crimp on your life. Whether it is the result of poor posture in front of the computer or there is a more serious cause, this is a stress that you simply don’t need. You may start missing out on other activities and you can become highly irritable. If you can not function normally or find that it takes more than the recommended dose of an over the counter medication to help your pain you should see your doctor right away.

You may start to notice that you are fatigued and depressed with the chronic torment of this pain. Fortunately, just about all types of headaches can be treated effectively. You may require professional guidance or you may be able to find a natural alternative to help assuage the pain.

Sleep talking is speaking or uttering of words or some sounds during sleep without being aware that this is happening. Many of you might wonder how to stop talking in sleep. There are symptoms and reasons why they talk, and we will find out here:

Symptoms: Basically, symptoms are signs that can be used to control talking in sleep.

o Some people who have psychiatric disorder have the tendency to sleep talk.

o Some people who got fever or febrile illness can be a sleep talker too.

o Some people who sleep talks can also experience sleep walk, REM sleeping behavior, sleep apnea syndrome and many more.

Reasons: Honestly, no one knows the reasons why some people really sleep talks most especially on children as the common target of this condition. Sleep talking includes moans, sounds while sleeping and some people really talk as if talking to another person.

Sleep talking can distract others who are around you and for many reasons it has been a serious issue that some family members find it really irritating.

There is no specific treatment for this situation like therapies, medicines and other medical treatments. But there are ways that we can try to help ourselves or friends and loved ones in recovering from talking in sleep:

o Allow the person to get enough of time to sleep because a stressed or super tired person can have the tendency to sleep.

o Make a fixed schedule of sleep, time of going to bed and getting up.

o Don’t have a heavy meal too soon before sleeping as this will disrupt your sleep pattern.

o If you know someone who sleep talks never nag them to stop talking in sleep because some do not know that they really talking while sleeping.

o Children were commonly affected by sleep talking make sure that you gently give them a soothing sleep and make sure to keep them safe during sleep.

Remember that depriving someone from having enough sleep can worsen the problem and they will continue to sleep talk (and probably not thank you for your efforts either). Just allow them to sleep if really needed.

Being a smoker is more fun. This widespread myth has now been busted by British scientists. The survey, which included 880 ex-smokers, showed that roughly 70% of the ex-smokers found themselves to be happier after the smoking cessation. The fear of losing life quality is why many smokers don’t want to quit smoking, but after the initial difficult time with withdrawal symptoms, it seems that life a a non smoker by no means is worse than life as a smoker. Quite the opposite actually, a study shows, which was recently published in the journal “Nicotine & Tobacco Research”. No ex-smokers regrets having stopped smoking, but what is important is to “survive” the first difficult time with withdrawal symptoms.

Among 879 ex-smokers 69.3 percent answered that they are happier after their cessation. 26.6 percent felt that their mood was the same, and only 3.3 percent said that they were less happy than before.

The findings corresponds well with my own experience: people don’t regret that they have stopped smoking, rather they regret that they started.

It is a widespread myth, that if you quit smoking you will lose some life quality in return of a prolonged life. But for those smokers that fight through the withdrawal symptoms, the reward is actually two fold: sure, their life is prolonged, but they also feel free of dependence, feel more confident, have a lot more energy and receives recognition from their surrounding for their accomplishment. Ex-smokers are winners.

Focus on life quality rather than health

Instead of focusing on all the harmful consequences of smoking, moving the focus on the positive aspects of a smoking cessation is by far the most efficient method, when trying to motivate people to quit smoking. Fear and condemnation does not motivate.

Instead, we are developing new methods in which we don’t to focus on diseases and health, but rather on the improved life quality, which freedom from smoke brings. The methods were developed from experiments with advice on smoking cessation for cancer patients. They were excited, partly because they felt that with a smoking cessation they themselves made a difference. Rather than being part of the problem, they were now part of the solution instead.

Better in time

The increased satisfaction is more pronounced, the longer the time that has passed since they stopped smoking. But even with ex-smokers, where the smoking stop was quite new, it was still the majority who feel happier now. Younger ex-smokers was more excited after their cessation than older people. However it did not matter whether they were heavy smokers or only smoked a few cigarettes a day.

Many retirees are faced with the possibility of a long-term care event. How will I pay expenses if I cannot take care of myself? I do not want to put the burden of long-term care expenses on my family or children. The good news is that we are not alone, millions of seniors across America are facing the same dilemma and many are making plans now. There are a lot of things we can do but it is coming down to two main options. The first is long-term care insurance and the other is a reverse mortgage. Some are combining both options. These options are important factors in planning for the time when we may need the money the most but will not be able to do much about it.

A reverse mortgage is a loan that is made to individuals 62 years and over in the United States, which is used to release home equity on a property in one large lump sum, or multiple payments. The homeowner is not obligated to repay the loan until they die, the home is sold or they leave into a nursing home.

For a typical mortgage, the owner of the house will pay a monthly payment to the lender, whereas in a reverse mortgage, the home owner makes no payments and all interest is added to the lien on the property. Now, it may seem odd that there are no payments on the reverse mortgage, but the way that the loan is paid off is that if the home owner moves, goes into a nursing home or dies, is from the proceeds in the sale of the house, or in the event the heirs refinance the estate of the homeowner. If the proceeds of the sale exceed the amount of the loan, the owner of the house gets the difference. In the case of the heirs, they would receive the difference. If the sale does not pay off the loan, then the bank will absorb the difference.

This option is becoming very popular with some seniors when they have to choose between reverse mortgages and long-term care insurance because they get a lot of the money upfront, which can then be applied to savings. The draw back is that it could severely effect the inheritance that you may want to leave behind. Long-term care insurance is an inexpensive way to insure that your family is taken care of.

Conclusion For many seniors, the possibility of their children paying out of their own pocket to take care of them is simply too much to bear. As a result, seniors will look at the options of reverse mortgages and long-term care insurance to find a way that they can pay their own way through either a loan or a government program. In the case of reverse mortgages, they will be able to get a loan that they will not have to pay back until they die or move, and even then the loan is paid off on the sale of the home. This allows them to get the money up front to help pay for their own long-term care at home. It is of little surprise it has become such a popular trend for seniors looking for a way to pay their own way.

Regardless of where they are located, canker sores are painful and unwelcome to just about everyone. anyone having these mouth ulcers can have their days interrupted with pain and irritation, and could affect their mood and daily activities. Because of this, searching for a canker sore cure has become a big issue.

Finding an surefire canker sore cure can be difficult. These mouth ulcers are not caused by bacteria and therefore they are not contagious, however canker sores may be the result of poor oral hygiene. So if you don’t brush, rinse, and floss regularly and properly you may be inviting these painful canker sores into your mouth, throat, and tonsils. Allergic reactions to foods or medications may also result in canker sores. In some instances, irritation from certain foods could cause these dental sores. In addition, a scratch or break of the skin on the tonsils or throat could result in them forming.

As soon as you have a canker sore, you definitely want to get rid of it immediately. Canker sores, by nature, takes one to two weeks to heal on their own. To help you handle the irritation during these times, you can use a topical ointment or pain medications to treat the symptoms. If ever your canker sores are taking a longer time to heal, consider going to your dentist or doctor to get a prescribed antibiotic and understand the real cause.

To anyone of seems to be having frequent painful outbreaks of canker sores, it is more important to know how to prevent them from coming back. No one is really sure what causes canker sores, and therefore there is no absolute canker sore cure yet. Yet, don’t be dismayed. Certain preventive practices and routines are greatly beneficial in helping to reduce or even eliminate canker sore outbreaks if they are done regularly.

First thing is to stop the use of toothpastes that lists sodium laurel sulfate (SLS) as an ingredient. Sodium laurel sulfate (SLS) is commonly found as a chemical ingredient in many shampoos, soaps and toothpastes. It is this particular chemical that causes the foaming action often associated as “getting clean”. Even though what triggers SLS is not exactly known, taking it out of your dental care routine is known to lower outbreaks in certain cases.

It is a better option to switch to an all natural product that contains no SLS, and make sure it includes all natural peppermint, spearmint and almond oils that are an appropriate choice for canker sore sufferers. Reducing other possible risk factors such as smoking, stress and controlling hormone fluctuations may also help relieve future canker sore outbreaks as well. Consider reducing the number of cigarettes you smoke daily; try to exercise to help reduce stress, and taking oral contraceptives (birth control pills) to help manage monthly hormonal changes. These simple preventions can prove to be easy canker sore cure themselves.

A canker sore is something you definitely don’t want to experience, so the key is prevention. Practicing good oral hygiene and eating healthy are just two ways to prevent the painful sores. Brushing teeth regularly, rinsing the mouth after meals, and flossing properly are good ways to help prevent canker sores, and can pose as an effective canker sore cure. Using dental care products made of all-natural ingredients are a particularly great way to prevent canker sores on tonsils, or anywhere else in the mouth.

There are now clearly established heart benefits from increasing your intake of the essential fatty acids found in fish oil known as omega 3 fats. For this reason the American Heart Association recommends that each of us undertake a minimum intake of Omega3 fats every week. These are heart benefits such as a reduction in the risks of coronary heart disease, but today lets ask whether there is a fish oil blood pressure link or whether increasing your intake of fish oil can help lower blood pressure.

High blood pressure is called hypertension and effects very many people. People who are overweight have a higher risk of hypertension and some of these people may spend many years on drugs designed to reduce hypertension. If there is an omega 3 blood pressure link this is good news for many people.

And it is good news. There are clear studies demonstrating a link between increasing Omega3 intake and lowering blood pressure. One study examining this split 120 people into 5 groups and supplemented their diet with a combination of fish and fish oil and placebos. The conclusion of the study was that increasing the intake of omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oil helped to lower blood pressure.

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) are the 2 primary essential fatty acids known as omega 3 fats. A further study narrowed down the cause and effect and isolated DHA as the principle cause of this reduction in blood pressure.

Overweight people have higher risks of hypertension as well as coronary heart disease and a third study examined the role of omega 3 in lowering blood pressure in overweight people. This study also concluded that fish oil could help lower blood pressure for overweight people and, when combined with an appropriate weight loss regime, would help “substantially” in lowering reliance on antihypertensive drugs for those already reliant on those drugs.

There is a wide range of health benefits from increasing your intake of omega 3 and these benefits now extend to lowering hyperension. However there are sufficient heart and health benefits from increasing your intake of omega 3 fatty acids that even those with no incidence of hypertension have a wide range of health benefits available to them from increasing fish oil intake. This includes reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease as well as increasing mental acuity and memory and reducing the risk of a range of age related diseases, and more.

The science is in on the heart benefits of increasing your intake of Omega3 fats in the American Heart Association tells us all to do this, given that over 90 percent of us have a deficient intake of omega 3. This is now more important for anyone with hypertension.

Clearly there is an omega 3 blood pressure link. Increasing your intake of Omega3 fats will help lower blood pressure and may also help lower your reliance on antihypertensive drugs.

So how do you increase your intake of Omega3 fats? You could eat more fish but fish is expensive and contaminated with mercury and for this reason the FDA tells us not to eat too much fish.

The good news is that it is perfectly possible and cost effective to take daily fish oil supplements. The best fish oil supplements are contamination free, though it is important to note that there are wide variations in the quality of various fish oil supplements and you should choose carefully.

I take fish oil capsules myself and ensure my family does as well. To find out which ones visit my website.

Someone asked me recently about depression treatment. He purchased the High Blood Pressure Program and jokingly asked if he could be depressed from it.

Both ideas have been studied; hypertension leading to depression as well as depression leading to high blood pressure. Research does reflect a link between the two.

Research shows that people who suffer long term depression are two to three times as likely to also develop hypertension. First, we’ll look at depression as the initial problem.

Those suffering from depression will not stay on regular treatment of high blood pressure. And a depressed person will tend to have poor eating habit and he mostly smokes or drinks. All this will lead to hight blood pressure.

Interestingly though, is that the study also involved people who did not engage in poor habits, yet they also suffered from hypertension.

It is believed that there may be changes in the hormones in a person who suffers from depression for an extended period of time which could increase blood pressure.

Medications for depression can also lead to a small but long term increase to blood pressure.

All these research suggests that there is a link between depression and high blood pressure.

High blood pressure result of depression:

Mostly the due to the medication that we take for high blood pressure people tend to get depressed as a common side effect.

Here in order to solve one issue we get another issue.

And although the person who asked about depression was half joking, there is not doubt anxiety that goes along with knowing the hypertensive condition exists.

Given that stress is a consistent theme in so many physical problems, there is little wonder that both high blood pressure and depression can result.

Some things that still provide relief in lowering blood pressure regardless of the cause:

Limit drinking and in best case avoid drinking. Even after a single drink blood pressure can increase for some people.

smoking is injurious to health. As we all know smoking can lead to high blood pressure.

Eat properly. The body requires good nutrition to function well. This can also assist with weight control.

Two other options are my all natural High Blood Pressure Program and Weight Loss Breeze Program. Both have amazing results.

Most muscle building fanatics get carried away and want to achieve too much, too soon, resulting in a search for steroid-like growth, in the least amount of time, sacrificing their overall health in the process. This is not a good approach to take if you want to achieve solid, long lasting results.

The primary purpose of muscle building supplements is to provide the body with the correct balance of nutrients that may be lacking, thus correcting any biochemical imbalances. It’s simply a mistake to think that a supplement or combination of supplements is going to turn an incorrect diet or regime into the right one.

That’s not to say that you should ignore muscle building supplement though - far from it. It is, however, essential to get your exercise regime and diet in order before you even consider using any shape or form of muscle building supplement. If a diet or regime is not working for you at present, adding a supplement into the mix won’t suddenly make it work for you.

With that said, let’s look at what you should be doing to in order to maximize your muscle building sessions:

Water - Everyone has heard before about the importance of taking in lots of water, yet so many people continue to overlook this point. Make no mistake, water is more important than anything else, as if your body isn’t well hydrated, then it can’t function properly. As a further point, muscle tissue is 75% water, so, without taking in water, you’ll always struggle to build more muscle.

Powdered Proteins - Both cost effective and convenient, protein powders are an important part of a body building program. They boost the levels of the much needed muscle building protein in your body, and it would be difficult to achieve similar results by standard food and drinks alone.

Vitamins and Minerals - Whilst there are still people who claim that the benefits if multi-mineral or multi-vitamin tablets and supplements are negligible, no-one can claim that they will do you any harm. There are enough supporters of them to give them credibility, and you have nothing to lose by using them, particularly so if you’re following a limited dietary program.

Creatine Monohydrate - This is the most commonly used muscle building supplement. Why is that? Well, put simply, it works! By all means try out other supplements, but always use them as an addition to creatine, not as a replacement for it. The fact that so many fanatical muscle builders use it is evidence enough of its worth.
