As with other fade creams that proliferate in the market nowadays, Esoterica Fade Cream promises to reduce skin discolorations as caused by pregnancy, aging, pigmentation, skin trauma, oral pills and other factors. As a skin bleaching agent, the cream works by restricting enzyme reactions that produce melanin in the skin cells. Certain precautions should be kept in mind before using such a product, though, as some of its active ingredients may cause certain health hazards.
Side effects
Esoterica Fade Cream can set off mild side effects like cracking of the skin and dryness particularly in areas around the nose and the eyes. There is also the mild burning sensation and reddening on the areas where you apply the cream. These side effects are common but may be alarming for some individuals.
There are also reported severe adverse effects from the use of the product. These include severe allergic reactions, tightness in the chest, facial swelling and difficulty breathing. Blistering, blue-black skin, excessive redness and irritation have also been reported to occur.
Active ingredients
Hydroquinone is one of the active ingredients of the Estorica Fade Cream formulation. This substance has been proven to cause the dermatologic effects that were mentioned earlier. It can also cause contact dermatitis and ochronosis.
May cause cancer
Octyl Dimethyl PABA (Padimate O), also an active ingredient of Estorica, along with Benzophenone and Hydroquinone, has its own share of side effects. Padimate O is a derivative of the PABA sunscreen ingredient and has been proven (by research) to release certain free radicals (causes cancer), cause allergic reactions, damage DNA and have estrogenic activity. The use of this chemical is restricted in cosmetics, limiting its concentration. In addition, cellular level changes may also occur, causing cell death and cardiovascular implications.
Contraindications
Esoterica Fade Cream is generally not recommended for pregnant and nursing women, and children aged 12 years old and below. Individuals who have particular allergies on food, medicines, and substances are also advised to stay away from the product. There are also medicines that can interact with it, and the reactions are still yet to be found out.
