It may only seem like a bit of a joke to most of you, but chronic snoring can become a real problem. Funnily enough snoring is usually an affliction that doesn’t affect the one who is doing it, but those who are nearby when it is being done. On the odd occasion, for example when you stay over at someone house, then perhaps you might encounter a restless night. However. However, for those who sleep next to an excessive snorer, then these restless nights can merge into restless weeks and months. This sort of thing can put a serious strain on any relationship. Here are some anti snoring exercise options for you to consider.
For some the problem gets so serious that surgery is required. For others a course of drugs is an option, and for others something like therapy may well be helpful. All this sort of stuff is considered last ditch effort and is only required when all other options have been exhausted. However, before you resort to these sorts of things, then it is much better to try some simple exercises first.
There are two different sets of exercises that you can do. One form of exercise is just the sorts of simple fat burning exercise that anyone would do to lose weight. Being overweight can be one of the main causes of snoring, and reducing the fat around the neck will help you to open up your airways. On the other hand, you also need to look to do exercises that focus their attention on strengthening the muscles around the jaw, throat, and tongue.
You can use facial expression exercises to strengthen these areas. Try stretching out your tongue and then touching your chin and the tip of your nose. If you do this often throughout the day you will start to see some results over time. You can also try to do an exaggerated smile and hold the pose, or open up your mouth nice and wide. Again, hold the position for 10 seconds and repeat this throughout the day.
You can also do vocal exercise that helps to strengthen the throat. If you follow what pro singers do and try their warm up exercises, whilst holding the notes for a few seconds then this will help. For example, sing la-la-la-la-la and hold each la for about 3 seconds.
These sorts of exercises are the ones you should be focusing on if you are serious about ridding yourself of your relentless snoring.
