Removal Of Stretch Marks Is Easy

by Jen Hopkins

Stretch marks are very annoying scars as they are harder to get rid off than ordinary scars. It is also a nuisance especially if they form in places that can be easily seen by people. This is why a lot of women dread the formation of such scars, and will try a lot of things just to get rid of the blemishes on their skin.

How do these scars form in the first place? As their name implies, they form when the skin is stretched past its limit which causes the dermal layer to tear and break. Once this happens, the skin will of course try and fix itself once the stretching stops, which in turn leads to the formation of stretch marks.

Once there are already stretch marks on your skin, you don’t have to mope about it. You are lucky if they form in a part of your body that is not easily seen so that you can cover them up with clothes. But if they form on visible areas, there are still a lot of options that you can try to get rid of the marks.

For other cases where the marks can easily be seen, you can try some procedures that can totally eliminate the scars. One is by trying microdermabrasion, which involves removing the outermost layer of the skin along with the underlying scar. This method can completely remove any surface scars while significantly reducing the appearance of stretch marks.

This first method may be quite painful as it involves removal of a layer of your skin. Another procedure that you can try is laser treatments, which focus on removing the scars only and leaving your healthy cells intact. This method involves less pain but may be even more effective than dermabrasion.

Another method that people commonly undergo but may be a lot riskier is cosmetic surgery. This method can fully take out the scars left due to the extreme stretching of the skin. Unfortunately, this exposes you to the risks of surgery as you may need to be opened up or skin patches will be removed so that the scars will also be removed with them.

Other simpler methods that you can try are the use of creams and vitamin supplements on the skin. This will help moisturize the skin and stimulate cell regeneration so that the older cells in the scar tissue may be replaced. Some may also massage the affected areas for faster breakdown of the scar.

Stretch marks need not be something that will cause you a lot of distress. You can choose from a variety of methods to help you lighten or remove these blemishes on your skin. For marks the you may predict such as those that may form during pregnancy, it might be a good idea to take preventive measures such as eating the right foods and applying creams to moisturize the skin and help make it more resistant to tearing.
